Workshop Details

Join Pete for a workshop based in the Scottish Highlands, photographing some of the wonderful wildlife that calls this area, home.

Workshops of one or more days are available throughout the winter months, from October through to the end of March, based in the Scottish Highlands.

Subjects can include mountain hares, red squirrels, red deer, red grouse, ptarmigan, crested tits, snow buntings and more.

The red squirrel session is run from a comfortable hide, which often sees not only the red squirrels, but also a wide array of birds, including crested tits, great-spotted woodpeckers, treecreepers, long-tailed tits and more. There is also a reflection pool on offer, and a jump, to capture images of the squirrels in mid-air!

The crested tit session is in an open woodland, so you have freedom to move around different locations, for various perches and habitats, and to best use the light available.

Workshops run from dawn to dusk to maximise daylight hours during the winter months. And in the darkest months of December and January, Pete discounts his daily rates to balance the time available with the cost.

Some subjects are only available in certain weather conditions, and please remember that some also require a short hike to reach, so please consider fitness before booking.

Additional third-party hides can be included in workshops, and Pete will arrange such bookings, and incorporate the extra cost into the workshop fee.

Workshops are available to all levels of clients, and can provide experience for photography and field-craft.
